Other Activities

As part of my continued drive to use technology to aid the quality and richness of teaching and learning, I developed several online learning tools.

Student Learning Initiative

To enhance students’ professional and personal development, I employed students under the Student Learning Initiative and On-Campus Service Learning Scheme to build the e-Learning Tools.  In the process, I provided a unique opportunity to students to expand their learning through the integration of service-learning into real life work experience.

Outcome Based Learning

I am the Divisional Coordinator for the implementation of Outcome-based Teaching & Learning (OBTL) initiative.  I was responsible for planning and overseeing the conversion of of all courses into OBTL model. To aid the smooth and timely implementation, I designed and offered several workshops, and counseled colleagues to achieve the right alignment.

College Quality Assurance Committee

I contributed in substantial measure through my ideas, knowledge experience and suggestions as the Divisional Representative on the College Quality Assurance Committee by making contributions in areas like: OBTL planning and implementation, revisions to sections of CCCU QA Handbook, introducing revised TFQ system for pre-AD and top-up programs and QA guidelines for top-up programs.

In addition, I made several suggestions at the committee’s deliberations and submitted papers on key areas like CQCLF guidelines and templates.

College Validation & Monitoring Committee

General Education Commitee

As a member of the College Validation & Monitoring Committee and General Education Committee I contributed ideas in a substantial manner in addition to submitting papers on Annual Divisional and Program Reports, etc.

As a member of the GE Committee, I was proactive not only in terms of proposing GE courses, but made contribution on the committee’s deliberations, the idea of creating a GE Philosophy Statement. I spearheaded the design and launch of CCCU GE Teaching & Learning Seminar
