PRESENTATION

Excellence in teaching is achieved through a combination of dedication, passion and experience.  This calls for investment in terms of time to adequately prepare lessons, construct thoughtful and practical discussion questions, and to assist and advise students.

In preparing for lectures, I pay specific attention to the form and features of my message.  I try to make my introduction dramatic--this is usually a question, a quotation, a problem or something relevant to their day-to-day lives that will grasp students’ attention.

Between the introduction and the conclusion I punctuate my lecture with copious illustrations, exhibits and visual aids.  I use these as windows that let the light in-- in students’ mind.  Then students say “Aha, I see it…now I understand!”
