I translate my goals into action using a 3H principle viz.
- Head: my knowledge and insight of the course content
- Hands: my teaching skills (clear and systematic presentations, teaching at the right level, using appropriate pedagogy and assessment tasks, stimulating student interest and critical thinking, encouraging active learning, using appropriate illustrations), and
- Heart: concern for students’ needs and interest.
GOALS
My teaching goals are:
- to bring out the best in students by giving them challenge, giving them control and giving them credit
- to motivate my students to take responsibility for their learning and be able for them to demonstrate the learning outcomes
- not to produce graduates who know everything, but graduates who have the capacity to learn, so that they can be lifelong learners
